Wow - we are really getting close now.....less than 50 days on the countdown. We have been busy in the past few weeks enjoying our last few months of life without a child, preparing the baby's room and spending time with friends and family getting showered with gifts for the baby.
I am now 33 weeks pregnant and my belly is growing every day! Baby now weighs about four pounds and over 17 inches long. The baby is becoming increasingly cramped for space, but is still very active, especially when I am trying to go to sleep!
Chad and I went to Scottsdale for our 'babymoon' or our last vacation sans baby. We were able to get some quality pool time in and Chad hit the golf course for a round and we spent the rest of the time focusing on rest and relaxation! Honestly, it was almost too relaxing and we were beginning to get bored....maybe we really are almost ready to be parents!
The next weekend Chad went to Charlotte, North Carolina to visit our friends Doug and Courtney and go to baby boot camp by spending time with their 9 month old daughter, Ruby. He came back with lots of stories about how cute she is but somehow he escaped actually trying out the whole diaper changing thing. Rest assured, he will have plenty of that in the near future!
I went to Boise for a shower that my sisters Stacy and Karin (with some help here and there from our Mom) hosted for me. It was so great to see all of my friends and important people in my life there to celebrate this incredible milestone for me and Chad. The shower was themed around high tea at the Rotunda at Neiman Marcus in San Francisco. The attention to detail was incredible and everyone was SO impressed!
The baby's room is almost complete! The wall treatment is finished and the rest of the room has been painted. Chad and I felt daring the other night and decided to assemble the crib ourselves. We were a bit concerned considering that we aren't master craftsmen, but we were able to do it.....we are hoping that it holds up and that it doesn't fall apart the first time the baby sneezes!!!
Thanks for checking in on us! We will continue to post updates on the progress of the baby and room.
